MY STORY

Judith (Judy)  Bednarek is a third-generation Austrian-Hungarian born in the United States who resides in Minnesota. She is a born-again Christian (Ashkenazi Jew) redeemed by the grace of God. She is a Graphic Designer, Author, Screenwriter, Filmmaker, Poet and Humanitarian. She has walked through the fire overcoming trial and tribulation as a survivor of Lyme Disease and Lupus. 

 

Judy learned the craft of screenwriting after she discovered The Screenwriter's Bible by David Trottier more than 15 years ago. She has been writing stories since she was a young child. It truly is her gift from God.  â€‹

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Judy started her screenwriting career with her Bigfoot feature Yellow Eye. It was a Top-10 Finalist at the California Film Awards in 2013. Chris Turner at Ballistic Films (Toronto) commissioned her to rewrite the story for a low-budget production.

 

In 2016, she moved to Los Angeles to collaborate with award-winning directors and producers on her project Star Child. She was a private investor who developed the project with B-List talent for Buffalo 8 Productions.

A Season of Strawberries was a pitch winner and Top-10 Finalist at high-ranking screenplay contests including the Oaxaca Film Festival from more than 10,000 scripts. It was chosen for immediate commercial development in the Global Script Challenge in 2019.

As a screenwriter dedicated to her craft, Judy has shown professional commitment and personal accomplishment. Comments from film colleagues include; "Your scripts are amazing. I like your style of writing. The structure and the dialogue is outstanding."

 

Judy believes the changing film industry will embrace more faith-based and inspirational films prompting opportunities for visionary women.

MY CAREER GOAL

Judy Bednarek seeks representation with an Agent or Manager to option or sell her original screenplays. She will collaborate with a Producer or Director. Her media platforms are; IMDB, ISA (International Screenwriters Association), YouTube (pitches) and her official website.
